Salford road closures: nine for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Salford's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm April 11 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 both directions M60 to M61 J3 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8pm June 5 to 6am June 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 8pm June 5 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm June 5 to 3am June 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 11 exit slip road closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 10pm June 15 to 6am June 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise jct 16 to jct 15 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm June 17 to 5am June 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M61, from 10pm June 17 to 10am June 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm June 18 to 5am June 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 11 to junction 10 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm June 19 to 6am June 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J15 to J13 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
