Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 12 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M61, from 9pm May 21 to 6am May 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 2 - four lane closures due to maintenance works.

• A556, from 8pm May 21 to 6am May 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm April 17 to 5am May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, junction 3 - one Lane and carriageway closure for signs erection.

• M60, from 9pm April 11 to 6am June 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 both directions M60 to M61 J3 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

And a further 13 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 8pm May 22 to 6am June 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 - 11 lane closures due to improvements.

• M60, from 9pm May 22 to 6am May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 12 to 18 - lane and slip road closures for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm May 22 to 5am May 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm May 23 to 5am May 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 8pm May 30 to 6am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 13 - lane closures and slip road closures for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm May 30 to 5am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 13 to 15, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm June 1 to 6am June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 12 to 18 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M62, from 9pm June 1 to 6am June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, jct 12 to jct 11, lane closures for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm June 1 to 5am June 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to, junction 2 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M602, from 12.30am to 7.30am on June 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 westbound, jct two exit slip road lane one closure due to inspections.

• M60, from 8pm June 5 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 8pm June 5 to 6am June 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 9pm June 5 to 3am June 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 11 exit slip road closure due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
