Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 14 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 12 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M61, from 8pm March 3 to 5am March 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J3 to J1 - lane closure for barriers.

• M60, from 9pm February 25 to 5am March 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise jct 13 to 9 lane closure and slip road closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M61, from 8pm March 6 to 6am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 both directions M60 to junction 3 - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm March 6 to 5am March 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 10 - 12 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm March 8 to 5am March 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 9 to 12 lane closure and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• A556, from 8pm March 10 to 6am March 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A556, from 8pm March 11 to 6am March 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A556, from 8pm March 13 to 6am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm March 13 to 5am March 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 16 to 15 lane closure for barrier works.

• M60, from 9pm March 15 to 8am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• A556, from 8pm March 18 to 6am March 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for improvement works.

• M62, from 8pm March 18 to 5am March 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 10 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M602, from 11.59pm March 18 to 5.30am March 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, J3 to J2 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm March 20 to 6am April 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J11 to J11 - carriageway closure for drainage.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
