Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 16 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Salford's motorists will have 16 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M61, from 9pm February 19 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, A580 to junction 1 - lane closure for barriers.

M62, from 8pm February 19 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 10 - 11 lanes one and two closure due to barrier repairs.

M60, from 9pm February 19 to 5am February 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 14 to 15 - slip road closures and lane closures for barriers - permanent.

M62, from 8pm February 18 to 5am February 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 10 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

A556, from 8pm February 13 to 6am March 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

M62, from 9pm February 20 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - lane closure for electrical works.

M60, from 9pm February 20 to 6am February 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580/M61 northbound and southbound, lane closures and slip road closures due to electrical works.

M60, from 8pm February 21 to 6am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J10 to M62 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

M60, from 8am February 22 to 5pm February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J13 to J14 - hard shoulder only for horticulture (cutting and planting).

M60, from 11.59pm February 22 to 6am February 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 13 to 12 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M602, from 5am to 10am on February 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 westbound to junction two to A576 - lane closure for central reservation.

M60, from 9pm February 25 to 5am March 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise jct 13 to 9 lane closure and slip road closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

M60, from 8pm February 27 to 6am March 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 3 to M60 - Lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8pm March 1 to 5am March 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 13 to junction 12 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

M61, from 10pm March 4 to 10am March 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M60, from 9pm March 6 to 5am March 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 10 - 12 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
