Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 14 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A627(M), from 8pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 21 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm January 9 to 5am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 14 to 16, - Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 11pm January 9 to 5am February 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J10 to J13 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 11pm January 16 to 5am January 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct nine - 12 lane closures and carriageway closure due to barrier repairs.

• M62, from 9pm January 17 to 5am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 -12 lane closures for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm January 18 to 5am January 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm January 19 to 5am January 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm January 20 to 5am January 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M62, from 9pm January 21 to 5am January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - Lane closure for drainage.

• A556, from 8pm January 23 to 6am January 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm January 23 to 5am January 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 11 to junction 10 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 8pm January 24 to 6am January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J16 to J16 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 11pm January 25 to 5am January 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J12 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M61, from 9pm January 26 to 5pm January 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, A580 to junction 4 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
