Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 14 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A556, from 8pm January 3 to 6am January 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A627(M), from 8pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 21 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures due to maintenance works.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 9pm January 9 to 5am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 14 to 16, - Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M62, from 10pm January 9 to 6am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, jct 11 to jct 12 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 11pm January 9 to 5am February 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J10 to J13 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 10pm January 10 to 6am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise jct 16 to jct 15 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 10pm January 11 to 6am January 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise jct 16 to jct 15 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm January 14 to 5am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise junction10 to Jc11 - lane closure for litter clearance.

• M61, from 10pm January 14 to 7am January 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, jct three carriageway closure due to drainage works.

• M60, from 9pm January 17 to 5am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 -12 lane closures for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm January 18 to 5am January 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm January 19 to 5am January 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M62, from 9pm January 21 to 5am January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm January 23 to 5am January 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 11 to junction 10 - carriageway closure for drainage.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
