Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 16 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Salford's motorists will have 16 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 10 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm July 1 to 5am July 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, lane closures and carriageway closures due to electrical works.

M60, from 8pm June 2 to 5.30am August 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 14 to 15 - Lane closures and carriageway closures for barriers - Permanent.

M60, from 8pm July 22 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60, junction 16 Anticlockwise Lane one closure at the left turn onto A666 no works involved to facilitate surfacing on A666.

M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

M60, from 9pm July 25 to 5am July 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

M62, from 8pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

M62, from 9pm July 27 to 6am July 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 - 11 lane closures due to electrical works.

M60, from 8pm July 30 to 6am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J10 to J13 - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

M60, from 9pm July 30 to 6am July 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - carriageway closure for communications.

M60, from 9pm August 1 to 5am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 2 to 1, lane closures and carriageway closures due to electrical works.

A5103, from 8pm August 8 to 6am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 5 to 8 carriageway closure due to improvement works.

M60, from 9pm August 8 to 5am August 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

M62, from 9pm August 8 to 6am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to 11 lane closures due to communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
