Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 10 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M6, from 8pm May 7 to 6am May 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 - 10 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M60, from 8pm April 29 to 7am May 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 lane closures and slip road closure due to resurfacing.

• M60, from 9pm April 20 to 5am May 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, j1 to j1 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm May 1 to 5am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, A580 to A580 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8pm May 9 to 5am May 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, junction 2 - one lane closures and slip road closures.

• M60, from 8pm May 14 to 6am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 16 to 15 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 8pm May 14 to 6am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 13 - 15 lanes two and three closure due to electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm May 15 to 6am May 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J13 to J15 - Lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 8pm May 16 to 6am June 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 10 - 11 lane closures due to fence repairs.

• M61, from 9pm May 16 to 6am May 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 2 - four lane closures due to maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm May 16 to 4am May 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 10 - 12 Rolling Block.

• M61, from 9pm May 17 to 5am May 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm May 18 to 5am May 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm May 20 to 5am May 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 13 to 15, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M61, from 9pm May 22 to 5am May 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to, junction 2 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M62, from 9pm May 23 to 5am May 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 11 - 12 lane closures due to construction.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
