Salford's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Salford's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M61, from 8pm January 19 to 6am January 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - lane closure for communications.

M60, from 9pm January 8 to 5pm January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 15 to junction 16 - lane closures and carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm December 11 2023 to 6am February 24 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8am January 22 to 6pm January 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J13 to J13 - hard shoulder only for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm January 22 to 6am January 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

M61, from 9pm January 22 to 5am January 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound, J3 to J4 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

M602, from 8pm January 24 to 5am January 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, M60 to J2 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 9pm January 26 to 6am January 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J13 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 9pm January 27 to 6am January 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 15 to junction 17 - lane closures and slip closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

M602, from 7.30am to 9.30am on February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 3 lane closure due to utility works.

M62, from 8pm February 5 to 5am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, 12 to 11 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm February 5 to 6am February 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

M61, from 8pm February 5 to 6am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J5 to J3 - lane closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
