Salford's motorists will have 18 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Salford's motorists will have 18 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 13 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M602, from 9pm August 20 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, Total closure, junction 3 to, junction 2 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

And a further 17 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 9pm August 29 to 5am August 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 15 to junction 13 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

M60, from 9pm September 1 to 5am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 14 to junction 13 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

M602, from 9pm September 2 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers.

M61, from 10pm September 2 to 10am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M60, from 9pm September 3 to 5am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

M61, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, A666 to M60 - carriageway closure for communications.

M61, from 9pm September 11 to 5am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, J5 to J3 - carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
