Salford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Salford's motorists will have 18 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 13 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M602, from 9pm August 20 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, Total closure, junction 3 to, junction 2 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

And a further 17 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm August 29 to 5am August 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 15 to junction 13 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

• M60, from 9pm September 1 to 5am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 14 to junction 13 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M602, from 9pm September 2 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers.

• M61, from 10pm September 2 to 10am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm September 3 to 5am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 8pm September 4 to 6am September 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 9pm September 4 to 5am September 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, jct four to 3 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm September 5 to 5am September 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, jct three to 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M602, from 10pm September 6 to 5am September 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 2 lane closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm September 7 to 5am September 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise jct 13 to 15, M61 northbound and southbound, jct one to 3, lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm September 8 to 5am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 westbound, jct two - one lane closures and slip road closure due to maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm September 9 to 5am September 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, jct one to 2 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm September 10 to 5am September 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 13 to junction 9 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M602, from 8pm September 11 to 5am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, jct one - three lane closures due to maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M61, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, A666 to M60 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M61, from 9pm September 11 to 5am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, J5 to J3 - carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
