Salford road closures: five for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Salford's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Salford's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm December 11 2023 to 6am February 24 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M61, from 8pm January 3 to 6am January 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J5 to J3 - lane closure for communications.

M62, from 8pm January 3 to 5am January 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm January 8 to 6am January 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 both directions J10 to J12 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 9pm January 8 to 6am January 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 15 to junction 16 - lane closures and carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
