Salford road closures: almost two dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Salford's motorists will have 21 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 12 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm January 27 to 6am January 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 15 to junction 17 - lane closures and slip closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm January 8 to 5pm January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 15 to junction 16 - lane closures and carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm December 11 2023 to 6am February 24 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

And a further 18 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8am January 29 to 6pm February 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J13 to J13 - hard shoulder only for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm January 29 to 6am February 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M61, from 8pm January 29 to 6am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J5 to J3 - lane closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm January 30 to 5am January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, J2 to J2 - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M61, from 8pm February 2 to 6am February 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm February 3 to 5am February 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, jct 12 to M602 jct one lane closures and carriageway closure due to bridge works.

• M602, from 7.30am to 9.30am on February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 3 lane closure due to utility works.

• M62, from 8pm February 5 to 5am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, 12 to 11 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm February 5 to 6am February 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M61, from 8pm February 5 to 6am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J5 to J3 - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 8pm February 6 to 6am February 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm February 8 to 6am February 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J12 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm February 8 to 5am February 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, J11 to J12 - carriageway closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm February 10 to 5am February 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J14 to J13 - carriageway closure for structure - new/reconstruction on behalf of National Highways.

• M61, from 9pm February 10 to 5am February 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions, junction 4 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M602, from 9pm February 10 to 5am February 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm February 12 to 6am February 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm February 12 to 6am February 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J12 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
