Salford road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm September 11 to 5am September 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M6, from 9pm September 7 to 6am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 10 to 12 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm September 1 to 6am October 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound to M60 clockwise - Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm July 22 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60, junction 16 Anticlockwise Lane one closure at the left turn onto A666 no works involved to facilitate surfacing on A666.

• M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 9pm September 12 to 5am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm September 14 to 5am September 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 13 to 15, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm September 15 to 5am September 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M61, from 9pm September 16 to 5am September 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to, junction 2 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 10pm September 19 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M62, from 9pm September 20 to 6am September 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 10 to 12 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
