Road closures: more than a dozen for Salford drivers this week

Drivers in and around Salford will have 13 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A556, from 8pm November 30 to 6am December 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm November 28 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 10 - 17 - M61 southbound, jct three - M602 westbound, jct two - one - M62 eastbound, jct 11 - 12 lane closures and slip road closures due to sign works.

• M60, from 7am November 28 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 East and westbound, junction 2 to roundabout lane closures due to inspection works.

• M60, from 9pm December 1 2022 to 6am January 1 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 14 to 16 due to electrical works.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A627(M), from 8pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 21 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm December 6 to 6am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J15 to J15 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm December 6 to 5am December 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm December 12 to 6am December 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise A580 to M60 clockwise carriageway closure due to inspection works.

• M60, from 11pm December 12 to 6am December 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J15 to J15 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm December 13 to 6am December 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise jct 16 to jct 15 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 11pm December 14 to 6am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J12 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm December 15 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 11pm December 16 to 5.30am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 9 to junction 12 - lane closure for barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
