Road closures: more than a dozen for Salford drivers this week

Drivers in and around Salford will have 16 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm September 4 to 6am September 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 12 - 14 lane closures due to barrier scheme.

M60, from 9pm September 1 to 6am October 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound to M60 clockwise - Lane closure for Electrical works.

M60, from 8pm June 6 to 5am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 15 - 13 narrow lanes and hard shoulder running due to barrier works.

M60, from 8pm July 22 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60, junction 16 Anticlockwise Lane one closure at the left turn onto A666 no works involved to facilitate surfacing on A666.

M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

M62, from 9pm September 5 to 6am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to 11 lane closures due to communications.

M6, from 9pm September 7 to 6am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 10 to 12 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

M60, from 9pm September 8 to 5am September 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

M61, from 9pm September 10 to 6am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 2 - four lane closures due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8pm September 18 to 5.30am September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 14 to 15 - Lane closures and carriageway closures for barriers - Permanent.

M60, from 10pm September 19 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J10 - carriageway closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
