Road closures: more than a dozen for Salford drivers this week

Drivers in and around Salford will have 17 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 9pm August 7 to 5am August 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 -12 lane closures for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm August 6 to 5am August 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 to 2 - lane closures and carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm June 2 to 5.30am August 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 14 to 15 - Lane closures and carriageway closures for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 9pm August 1 to 5am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 2 to 1, lane closures and carriageway closures due to electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm June 6 to 5am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 15 - 13 narrow lanes and hard shoulder running due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm July 22 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60, junction 16 Anticlockwise Lane one closure at the left turn onto A666 no works involved to facilitate surfacing on A666.

• M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A5103, from 8pm August 8 to 6am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 5 to 8 carriageway closure due to improvement works.

• M60, from 9pm August 8 to 5am August 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M62, from 9pm August 8 to 6am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to 11 lane closures due to communications.

• M60, from 9pm August 8 to 6am August 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm August 9 to 5am August 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M62, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J10 to J12 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 9pm August 11 to 5am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 12 to junction 11 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm August 13 to 5am August 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 11 to junction 10 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M602, from 5am to 11am on August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 2 to 3 lane closure and carriageway closure due to electrical works.

• M602, from 8pm August 18 to 6am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 1 - four lane closures due to inspections.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
