Road closures: more than a dozen for Salford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Salford will have 15 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Salford will have 15 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And 11 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 11pm November 19 to 5am November 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 8 to junction 12 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M61, from 8pm November 20 to 6am November 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8pm November 20 to 6am November 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical work.

M60, from 8pm November 21 to 5am November 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 13 exit slip road Lane two closure due to works on Worsley Brow Roundabout for Salford Council.

M60, from 11pm November 21 to 5am November 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 13 to junction 9 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 11pm November 23 to 5am November 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct nine - 14 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
