Road closures: dozens for Salford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Salford will have 24 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And 13 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M61, from 9pm February 10 to 5am February 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions, junction 4 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm January 8 to 5pm February 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 15 to junction 16 - lane closures and carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm December 11 2023 to 6am February 24 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

• M60, from 9pm February 10 to 5am February 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J14 to J13 - carriageway closure for structure - new/reconstruction on behalf of National Highways.

And a further 20 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8pm February 12 to 6am February 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm February 12 to 6am February 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J13 to J12 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm February 13 to 6am February 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J10 to J13 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm February 14 to 5am February 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, M60 J12 to J11 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 8pm February 15 to 5am February 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 13 to junction 12 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm February 15 to 5am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 westbound, two to 2 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

• M602, from 8pm February 16 to 5am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 2 to junction 3 - lane closure switching for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm February 17 to 5am February 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 8pm February 19 to 6am February 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M602, from 8pm February 19 to 5am February 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 westbound, J1 to J2 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm February 20 to 5am February 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J13 to J15 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M602, from 8pm February 20 to 5am February 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, J1 to J3 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

• M602, from 8pm February 21 to 6am February 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound, J1 to J3 - lane closure and carriageway for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm February 21 to 6am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 15 to jct 17 - lane closures for electrical works.

• M62, from 8pm February 22 to 5am February 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 both directions J11 to J12 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

• M60, from 9pm February 22 to 6am February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 13 to jct 14 lane closures for electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm February 23 to 5am February 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J12 to J11 - lane closure for structure - maintenance on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm February 26 to 6am March 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M61, from 8pm February 26 to 6am February 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions A580 to J4 - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm February 26 to 5am March 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J12 to J13 - carriageway closure for structure - new/reconstruction.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
