Road closures: almost a dozen for Salford drivers this week

Drivers in and around Salford will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm June 1 to 5am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound to M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise.

• M60, from 8pm June 2 to 5.30am August 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 14 to 15 - Lane closures and carriageway closures for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8pm June 6 to 5am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 15 - 13 narrow lanes and hard shoulder running due to barrier works.

• M60, from 9pm June 9 to 5am June 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 12 - 15 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm June 11 to 5am June 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 13 to 16 lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8.30pm June 13 to 5.30am June 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 16 to 13 lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm June 15 to 5am June 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to junction 17 - carriageway closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm June 16 to 5am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 17 to junction 16 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M60, from 8pm June 18 to 6am June 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J10 to J13 - Lane closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
