Road closures: almost a dozen for Salford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Salford will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Salford will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J15 to J14 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8pm December 11 2023 to 6am February 17 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

M60, from 11pm December 11 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

M60, from 8pm December 13 to 6am December 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J12 to J14 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 11pm December 13 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

M60, from 9pm December 14 to 5am December 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - carriageway closure for barriers.

M602, from 9pm December 15 to 5am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 2 to junction 2 - lane closure for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm December 16 to 6am December 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J13 to J17 - lane closure for electrical works.

M60, from 8pm December 18 to 6am December 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 2 to M60 clockwise - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M62, from 9pm December 18 to 5am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers - temporary on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
