Road closures: a dozen for Salford drivers this week

Drivers in and around Salford will have 12 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm June 2 to 5.30am August 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 14 to 15 - Lane closures and carriageway closures for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 9pm August 1 to 5am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 2 to 1, lane closures and carriageway closures due to electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm June 6 to 5am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 15 - 13 narrow lanes and hard shoulder running due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm July 22 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60, junction 16 Anticlockwise Lane one closure at the left turn onto A666 no works involved to facilitate surfacing on A666.

• M60, from 8.30am July 24 2018 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A580 eastbound to M60 clockwise, lane two closed, due to safety.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M602, from 8pm August 22 to 6am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 eastbound, junction 1 - four lane closures due to inspections.

• M60, from 8pm August 23 to 6am August 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 1 to A580 lane closures and slip road closures due to inspections.

• M61, from 8pm August 24 to 6am August 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 9pm August 31 to 5am September 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 10 to junction 12 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M62, from 9pm September 1 to 5am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 11 - 12 - Lane closures for drainage.

• M602, from 9pm September 2 to 5am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 11 - 12 lane closures due to maintenance works.

• M61, from 10pm September 3 to 10am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
