Rochdale road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Rochdale's motorists will have 15 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am November 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A627(M), from 8pm July 4 to 3.30am July 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M J A664 WEST OF KIRKHOLT LEAVE N, ROCHDALE, ROCHDALE - works on the verge on the slip road off A627M.

• A627(M), from 9pm July 4 to 5am July 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M northbound and southbound, j2 to A664 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M62, from 9pm July 4 to 6am July 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to M62, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to survey works.

• M62, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on July 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 22 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M62, from 8pm July 6 to 5am July 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 - 22 - Lane closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

• A627(M), from 8pm July 9 to 6am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, j20 to j21 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 22 to junction 23, Lane closures for general cleaning and maintenance.

• M66, from 9pm July 14 to 5am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 4 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm July 15 to 6am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to M62, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to survey works.

• M66, from 9pm July 15 to 5am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 4 -3 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

• A627(M), from 8pm July 16 to 6am July 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to 20 - Lane closures and carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 8.30pm July 18 to 6am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 - M60, junction 19 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
