Rochdale road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Rochdale's motorists will have 14 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A627(M), from 9pm May 19 to 5am May 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 slip road closures due to improvement works.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am November 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 8pm May 23 to 6am May 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 23 to junction 22, Lane closure for carriageway improvements.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 23 to 5am May 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A663 northbound and southbound, Elk Mill to Hunt Lane - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 26 to 5am May 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M southbound, junction 3 to 2 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 8pm May 29 to 6am May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J21 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 10pm May 29 to 6am May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 8pm May 30 to 5am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, J18 to J20 - Lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 10pm May 30 to 6am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 8pm May 31 to 5am June 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, J20 to J20 - Lane closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 8pm May 31 to 5am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M southbound, J3 to J2 - carriageway closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 9pm June 6 to 6am June 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 18 - 20 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
