Rochdale road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Rochdale's motorists will have 16 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 9pm October 29 to 5am October 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 20 - Lane closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 9pm October 28 to 6am October 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 20 to 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M62, from 8pm October 30 to 5am October 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 23 to junction 22, Lane closure for technology works.

• A627(M), from 9pm October 30 to 5am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 20 to junction 22 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M62, from 8.30pm October 31 to 5am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 22 - lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 9pm October 31 to 5am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 - 20 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm November 1 to 5am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 20 to junction 22 - Lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 9pm November 1 to 6am November 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 both directions, junction 19 to junction 21 - lane closure for drainage.

• M62, from 9pm November 2 to 5am November 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 20 to 22 lane closures and slip road closure due to general maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm November 3 to 5am November 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 to junction 22 - carriageway closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M62, from 9pm November 4 to 5am November 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 to 21 lane closures due to general maintenance works.

• M62, from 8pm November 6 to 5am November 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J18 to J19 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• A627(M), from 8pm November 7 to 5am November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M southbound, J4 to J3 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• M62, from 8pm November 7 to 5am November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J19 to J20 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• A627(M), from 8pm November 7 to 6am November 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M northbound, J1 to J2 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M66, from 8.30pm November 12 to 5am November 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 both directions, junction 2 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
