Rochdale road closures: almost two dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Rochdale's motorists will have 20 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 10 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 9pm May 2 to 6am May 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm May 8 to 6am May 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to electrical works.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 4 to 6am May 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 entry slip road closure due to improvement works.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 6 to 6am May 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 exit slip road closure due to resurfacing/white lining works.

• M62, from 9.30am May 5 to 3.30pm May 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 19 - works on verge at, junction of Middleton road - No carriageway incursion due to works by Electricity North West.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am November 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 9pm May 9 to 6am May 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 9pm May 9 to 6am May 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 - 22 lane closures due to improvements.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 10 to 6am May 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 19 slip road closures due to electrical works.

• M62, from 9.30am May 11 to 3pm May 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 to junction 21 - Lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm May 12 to 7am May 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise 19 exit slip road closure due to resurfacing.

• M60, from 9pm May 12 to 6am May 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 slip road closures due to improvement works.

• M62, from 9pm May 14 to 5am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm May 16 to 6am May 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 9pm May 16 to 6am May 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 - 21 lane closures due to improvements.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 16 to 5am May 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M southbound, M62, junction 20 to A627M, junction 2 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M66, from 10pm May 17 to 5am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 2 lane closures due to off network activities.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 19 to 5am May 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 slip road closures due to improvement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
