Rochdale road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Rochdale's motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm May 2 to 6am June 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• M62, from 3am May 9 to 11pm July 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 exit slip road Lane closure due to works on Airbourne Way.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm May 22 to 5am May 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 8pm May 23 to 6am May 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M both directions A663 to Rochdale Bypass - carriageway closure for communication works.

• M62, from 9pm May 24 to 5am May 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 20 - Lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 8.30pm May 30 to 5am June 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 20 to 22 - lane closure for communications.

• M66, from 9pm May 31 to 5am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, jct three - two lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm June 3 to 5am June 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, jct four - two lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

• A663, from 8pm June 5 to 6am June 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to 21 - carriageway closures for electrical works.

• M62, from 9pm June 5 to 6am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 both directions J21 to J22 - lane closure for white lining/road markings on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
