Rochdale road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Rochdale's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 8pm August 1 to 5am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, j21 to j20 - Lane closure for drainage.

• A627(M), from 9pm July 4 to 6am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M northbound and southbound, j2 to A664 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• A627(M), from 8pm July 9 to 6am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, j20 to j21 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am November 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm August 13 to 5am August 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 8.30pm August 15 to 5am August 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 20 - Lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 8.30pm August 17 to 5am August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 to 21 lane closures due to general maintenance works.

• A627(M), from 8.30pm August 20 to 6am August 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 to 20 - A627(M) northbound, junction 3 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M62, from 8.30pm August 20 to 5am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 to 21 lane closures due to general maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
