Rochdale road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Rochdale's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 3am May 9 to 11pm August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 exit slip road Lane closure due to works on Airbourne Way.

• A627(M), from 9pm August 7 to 6am September 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 20 to 22 lane closures and carriageway closures due to resurfacing.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A627(M), from 9pm August 14 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, jct 22 to 20 lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• M62, from 8pm August 17 to 5am August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J18 to J20 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 8pm August 18 to 6am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J20 to J21 - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 5am to 9.30am on August 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 21 entry slip road closure due to traffic light repairs.

• M60, from 9pm August 20 to 5am August 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 18 - 21 lane closures and carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm August 21 to 5am August 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J19 to J18 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M62, from 8pm August 22 to 5am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, J19 to J18 - lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 8pm August 22 to 5am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J19 to J20 - lane closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 9pm August 23 to 5am August 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 to junction 20 - lane closure for barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
