Road closures: more than a dozen for Rochdale drivers this week

Drivers in and around Rochdale will have 16 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 9pm May 14 to 5am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm May 12 to 7am May 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise 19 exit slip road closure due to resurfacing.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am November 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 9pm May 16 to 6am May 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M62, from 9pm May 16 to 6am May 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 - 21 lane closures due to improvements.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 16 to 5am May 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M southbound, M62, junction 20 to A627M, junction 2 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M66, from 10pm May 17 to 5am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 2 lane closures due to off network activities.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 19 to 5am May 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 slip road closures due to improvement works.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 23 to 5am May 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A663 northbound and southbound, Elk Mill to Hunt Lane - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• A627(M), from 9pm May 26 to 5am May 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M southbound, junction 3 to 2 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 8pm May 29 to 6am May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J21 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 10pm May 29 to 6am May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm May 30 to 6am June 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to M62, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to survey works.

• M60, from 10pm May 30 to 6am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
