Road closures: more than a dozen for Rochdale drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Rochdale will have 16 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 9pm February 17 to 5am February 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 both directions, junction 19 to junction 21 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• A627(M), from 8pm January 15 to 6am February 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 both directions J19 to J21 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

• A627(M), from 8pm February 16 to 6am February 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 20 to junction 19 - lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

• A627(M), from 8.30pm February 18 to 5am March 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 both directions, junction 18 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for communications.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm February 19 to 5am February 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, jct four - two lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier repairs.

• M62, from 8pm February 20 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 both directions, junction 21 to junction 22 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• A627(M), from 8pm February 21 to 6am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M both directions Rochdale to junction 2 - lane closure for horticulture.

• M66, from 10.30pm February 21 to 5am February 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 both directions, junction 2 to 3 - carriageway closure for barrier repairs.

• A627(M), from 9pm February 26 to 5am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M both directions A663 to J1 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M62, from 8pm February 27 to 5am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J21 to J22 - lane closure for structure - maintenance on behalf of National Highways.

• M62, from 9pm February 27 to 5am March 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 to junction 21 - lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm February 28 to 5am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J19 to J20 - lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 8pm February 28 to 5am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, J3 to J2 - lane closure for structure - maintenance on behalf of National Highways.

• M62, from 9pm February 28 to 5am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 23 to junction 22, slip road closure and lane closures for carriageway repairs, diversion in place via National highways and local authority network.

• M60, from 9pm February 29 to 6am March 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J22 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M66, from 9pm March 4 to 5am March 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 3 exit slip road closure due to works for TfGM.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
