Road closures: more than a dozen for Rochdale drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Rochdale will have 14 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A627(M), from 8am June 19 to 5pm June 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to junction 20 - hard shoulder only for electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm June 20 to 6am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J21 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M62, from 3am May 9 to 11pm July 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 exit slip road Lane closure due to works on Airbourne Way.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M62, from 9pm June 26 to 5am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 23 to junction 22, Lane closure for barrier repairs.

• M60, from 9pm June 26 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J19 - lane closure for drainage.

• A627(M), from 8pm June 27 to 5am June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M northbound, junction 2 to junction 3 - lane closure for horticulture.

• M62, from 9pm June 27 to 5am June 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 20 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 8pm June 28 to 5am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M northbound, J2 to J3 - lane closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 9pm July 1 to 5am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M northbound, junction 2 - carriageway closure for carriageway- reconstruction/renewal.

• A627(M), from 9pm July 2 to 6am July 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 19 - 22 - A627(M) northbound, jct two - three lane closures and slip road closure due to improvements.

• M66, from 8pm July 5 to 5am July 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - lane closure for horticulture.

• M62, from 8pm July 10 to 6am July 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 to junction 21, slip road closure for inspections, diversion in place via National highways and local authority network.

• M62, from 9pm July 10 to 6am July 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 19 - 22 - A627(M) northbound, jct two - three lane closures and slip road closure due to improvements.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
