Road closures: almost a dozen for Rochdale drivers this week

Drivers in and around Rochdale will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M62, from 8pm April 2 to 6am April 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 - 20 - Lane closures for Structure - maintenance.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am May 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

• M60, from 9pm March 16 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 8pm April 9 to 6am April 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J18 to J20 - Lane closure for communications.

• M62, from 9pm April 11 to 6am April 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, J18 to J20 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm April 11 to 6am April 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure and slip road closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm April 12 to 6am April 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to M62, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to survey works.

• A627(M), from 9pm April 18 to 6am April 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
