Road closures: almost a dozen for Rochdale drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Rochdale will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A627(M), from 9pm June 12 to 6am June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures due to improvements.

• M60, from 8pm June 13 to 6am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise and clockwise, junction 21 to 18 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M62, from 3am May 9 to 11pm July 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 19 exit slip road Lane closure due to works on Airbourne Way.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A627(M), from 8am June 19 to 5pm June 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to junction 20 - hard shoulder only for electrical works.

• M62, from 8pm June 19 to 5am June 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, J20 to J19 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm June 20 to 6am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J21 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M62, from 9pm June 21 to 5am June 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 21 to junction 20 - lane closure for white lining/road markings.

• M62, from 9pm June 23 to 5am June 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 19 to 21 lane closures due to general maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm June 27 to 5am June 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 20 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 8pm June 28 to 5am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A627M northbound, J2 to J3 - lane closure for communications.

• A627(M), from 9pm July 2 to 6am July 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 19 - 22 - A627(M) northbound, jct two - three lane closures and slip road closure due to improvements.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
