Road closures: a dozen for Rochdale drivers this week

Drivers in and around Rochdale will have 12 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A627(M), from 9pm July 4 to 6am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M northbound and southbound, j2 to A664 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• A627(M), from 8pm July 9 to 6am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, j20 to j21 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M62, from 9pm February 16 2021 to 6am November 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62, junction 19 eastbound, exit slip Lane one closed due to construction of a new road.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 8.30pm July 17 to 5am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 22 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 8.30pm July 18 to 6am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 - M60, junction 19 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm July 19 to 6am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to M62, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to survey works.

• M62, from 8pm July 20 to 6am July 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 22 to junction 23, Lane closures for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A627(M), from 9pm July 22 to 6am July 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M North and southbound, junction 1 - four carriageway closure due reconstruction works.

• M60, from 8pm July 28 to 6am July 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J21 - Lane closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

• M62, from 9pm July 29 to 6am July 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J18 to J20 - Lane closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
