Good news as food hygiene ratings given to seven Rochdale establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to seven of Rochdale’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Chester's at 169-171 Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, Lancashire; rated on October 20

• Rated 5: Tilly's Tea Room @ Mike Goldrick Window Blinds at 3-4 Dawson Street, Heywood, Lancashire; rated on October 20

• Rated 5: Tesco Family Dining Ltd at Tesco Stores Ltd, Silk Street, Rochdale, Lancashire; rated on October 14

• Rated 5: The Whistle Stop at Heywood Station, Railway Street, Heywood; rated on October 13

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: Heywood Reform Club at 34 Tower Street, Heywood, Lancashire; rated on October 13
