New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three of Rochdale’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

• Rated 5: Tommy's Fish & Chips at 5 Long Street, Middleton, Manchester; rated on January 19

• Rated 5: Sunflower Takeaway at 143 Jubilee Road, Middleton, Manchester; rated on January 15

It means that of Rochdale's 292 similar establishments with ratings, 166 (57%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
