69 further coronavirus cases and one more death recorded in Rochdale
The number of coronavirus cases in Rochdale increased by 69 in the last 24 hours, official figures show – and one more death was recorded.
A total of 33,702 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Rochdale when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on September 16 (Thursday), up from 33,633 on Wednesday.

Hide AdThe rate of infection in Rochdale now stands at 15,069 cases per 100,000 people, far higher than the England average of 11,107.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 26,326 over the period, to 7,339,009.
The figure does not include cases for Scotland, due to a technical issue affecting the availability of the data on the coronavirus dashboard.
There was also one more coronavirus death recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Rochdale.

Hide AdThe dashboard shows 677 people had died in the area by September 16 (Thursday) – up from 676 on Wednesday.
It means there have been two deaths in the past week, which is a decrease on three the previous week.
They were among 19,093 deaths recorded across the North West.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Rochdale.

Hide AdDaily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that more than two-thirds of people in Rochdale have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
The latest figures show 131,228 people had received both jabs by September 15 (Wednesday) – 69% of those aged 16 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 81% of people aged 16 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
Unlike at local level, the national rate was calculated using mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
