Oldham road closures: nine for motorists to avoid this week

Oldham's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that nine closures are due to start this week:

• M62, from 8pm November 29 to 5am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J21 to J22 - Lane closure for barrier Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm November 29 to 5am December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 22 exit slip road lane closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm November 30 to 5am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 22 exit slip road lane closure due to maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm December 1 to 6am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 22, Lane closure for carriageway repairs.

• M60, from 8.30pm December 2 to 5am December 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 to junction 22 - carriageway closure for barriers.

• A663, from 9pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 7 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A663 both directions Middleton Rd to Foxdenton - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction.

• M62, from 9pm December 5 to 5am December 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 22, slip road closure for technology works, diversion route via national highways and local authority network.

• M62, from 8pm December 7 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22, Lane closure for sign works.

• M60, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J23 to J21 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
