Oldham road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

Oldham's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Oldham's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A663, from 9.30am January 6 to 3.30pm January 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 northbound, from, junction with A669 to B6189 on footway with some carriageway incursion outside No. 222 due to urgent works by Electricity North West.

M62, from 9pm January 4 to 6am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 21 to junction 23, Lane closure for barrier repairs.

A663, from 8pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 31 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A663 both directions Middleton Rd to Foxdenton - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

A627(M), from 9pm January 15 to 5am January 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 northbound and southbound, Moston Lane to A627(M) lane closure due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
