Oldham road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Oldham's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Oldham's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm March 12 to 6am March 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J22 to J23 - lane closure for structure - maintenance on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm February 27 to 6am March 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Clock and Anticlockwise, junction 22 to 23 Lane one closure due to horticulture works.

A627(M), from 8pm February 20 to 6am May 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A663 both directions A663 to A627M - lane closure for electrical works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

M62, from 9pm March 23 to 5am March 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 22 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

A663, from 9.30am March 27 to 3.30pm April 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 North and southbound, lane closures with switching from Lydia Becker Way to Fold Green for footway upgrade.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
