Oldham's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Oldham's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A627(M), from 9pm July 1 to 5am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M northbound, junction 2 - carriageway closure for carriageway- reconstruction/renewal.

A663, from 9.30am June 27 to 3.30pm August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663/A627M from, junction A669 to junction B6189 including dualling works on footway for installation of New Water Main.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M62, from 9pm July 31 to 5am August 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 23, Lane closure for sign erection.

M62, from 9pm August 2 to 5am August 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, J21 to J21 - carriageway closure for communications.

M62, from 8pm August 7 to 5am August 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 22 - lane closure for signs - erection.

M62, from 9pm August 9 to 5am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 21 to 20 - lane closure for electrical works.

M60, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J22 to J20 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M60, from 8pm August 14 to 6am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 22 to junction 23 - lane closure for horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
