Oldham road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Oldham's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A627(M), from 9.30am December 1 to 3.30pm December 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 northbound, Broadway works in footway due to maintenance works.

• A627(M), from 8pm November 29 to 6am December 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A663 both directions, junction 1 to Holinwood Ave - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• A627(M), from 8pm November 27 to 5am December 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A627M both directions A663 to J1 - carriageway closure for drainage.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A663, from 8.30pm December 6 to 5am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to junction 22 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M60, from 8.30pm December 7 to 5am December 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 23 to junction 21 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M60, from 8.30pm December 8 to 6am December 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 21 to 23 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M60, from 8.30pm December 9 to 5am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 21 to 24 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm December 10 to 5am December 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise junction23 to 21 - carriageway closure for white lining/road markings on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm December 13 to 5am December 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J21 to J23 - lane closure for white lining/road markings on behalf of National Highways.

• A663, from 9.30am December 14 to 3.30pm December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 northbound, Middleton Road to Park View lane closure due to maintenance works.

• M62, from 9pm December 15 to 5am December 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 22 to junction 22 - carriageway closure for construction - bridge/structure.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
