Good news as food hygiene ratings given to nine Oldham establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Oldham’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: CH & Co Group Ltd (Staff Canteen) at Best Food, Salmon Fields, Royton, Oldham; rated on February 21

• Rated 5: The Shack at 231 Hollins Road, Oldham; rated on February 20

• Rated 5: Old Mill Catering at Old Mill House, Old Mill Lane, Springhead, Oldham; rated on February 15

• Rated 5: Crane Payment Innovations at New Coin Street, Royton, Oldham; rated on February 8

• Rated 5: Age UK Oldham at Spring Lees Court, Oldham Road, Springhead, Oldham; rated on January 11

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And three ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: Oldham Deaf Social Club at 161-165 Park Road, Oldham; rated on February 16

• Rated 5: SDC Trading Ltd at St Edwards Rc Presbytery, Spring Lane, Lees, Oldham; rated on February 10

• Rated 5: Playhouse 2 at Play House 2, 2 Newtown Street, Shaw, Oldham; rated on February 9
