Road closures: six for Manchester drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Manchester will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Manchester will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A5103, from 9pm December 20 to 5am December 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 4 to A5103 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8pm November 14 2023 to 6am March 2 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to 3 - lane closures and slip road closure for signs - erection on behalf of National Highways.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A5103, from 8.30pm January 3 to 5am January 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 4 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8pm January 6 to 6am January 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J19 to J19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 5am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to A5103 - lane closure for drainage.

A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 5am January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions Palatine Rd To M60A entry to M60B entry To Palatine Rd - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
