Road closures: six for Manchester drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Manchester will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Manchester will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm November 14 2023 to 6am February 17 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to 3 - lane closures and slip road closure for signs - erection on behalf of National Highways.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A5103, from 9pm December 18 to 5am December 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 6 to junction 5 - lane closure for electrical works.

M56, from 9pm December 18 to 5am December 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions J4 to J5 - lane closure for white lining/road markings on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 9pm December 18 to 5am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 9pm December 19 to 5am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

A5103, from 9pm December 20 to 5am December 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 4 to A5103 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
