Road closures: more than a dozen for Manchester drivers this week

Drivers in and around Manchester will have 13 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am November 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• A5103, from 8pm August 15 to 5am November 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 northbound, Palatine Rd to M60 clockwise, junction 5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• A5103, from 9pm October 29 to 6am November 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 6 - three - A5103 southbound, M60 - Palatine Road lane closure and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

• A5103, from 8.30pm July 23 to 6am November 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, A5103 to J5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs on behalf of National Highways.

• M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

• M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

• M56, from 8pm October 15 2022 to 6am January 13 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, J3a to J5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm November 12 to 5am November 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 21 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A663, from 9pm November 13 to 5am November 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 19 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A5103, from 8pm November 14 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 northbound, Princess to Parkway - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• A5103, from 9pm November 14 to 6am November 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 3 entry- carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm November 14 to 6am November 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J19 to entry slip - carriageway closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• A5103, from 9pm November 14 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise j24 to J5 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
