Road closures: more than a dozen for Manchester drivers this week

Drivers in and around Manchester will have 15 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 10 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm March 7 to 6am May 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 3 lane closures and slip road closure due to barrier repairs.

• M60, from 5am April 20 to 5am May 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

• A5103, from 9pm January 1 to 11pm May 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo - two hours before game.

• A5103, from midday, January 1 to 11pm May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo = two hours after game.

• M60, from 9pm March 1 to 6am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M56, from 8pm May 20 to 6am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 3 a to 8 lane closures due to improvement works.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

• M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm May 28 to 5am May 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 4 to junction 5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 8pm May 29 to 6am May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J21 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 10pm May 29 to 6am May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 10pm May 30 to 6am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M56, from 8pm June 6 to 6am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for drainage.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
