Road closures: eight for Manchester drivers this week

Drivers in and around Manchester will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Manchester will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M56, from 8pm February 10 to 6am February 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 2 to junction 4 - lane closure for barrier works.

A5103, from 9.30am February 5 to 3.30pm February 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 northbound, works on footway at rear of 26 Parkwood Drive due to insulation of joint flow stop.

A5103, from 8pm January 23 to 7am May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions A5103 (A560 Altrincham Rd) to M56 Sharston Link - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

M56, from 8pm February 18 to 6am March 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, jct six - three lane closures due to barrier scheme.

A5103, from 9pm February 20 to 5am February 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 northbound and southbound, Mersey Crescent to M56 - Lane closure and carriageway closure for signs.

M56, from 8pm February 21 to 5am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, J1 to J2 - lane closure for communications.

A5103, from 9pm February 25 to 5am February 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 9pm February 27 to 5am March 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to 20 - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
