Road closures: eight for Manchester drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Manchester will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Manchester will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A5103, from 8.30pm October 6 to 5am October 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to Mersey Crescent - carriageway closure for horticulture.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A5103, from 9pm October 11 to 5am October 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, junction 4 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

A5103, from 8pm October 13 to 5am October 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 7 to junction 3 - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 9pm October 13 to 5am October 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 3 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

A5103, from 9pm October 15 to 5am October 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 1 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

M60, from 8am to 5pm on October 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 3 to junction 3 - hard shoulder only for electrical works.

M60, from 9pm October 16 to 5am October 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 5 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M60, from 9pm October 17 to 5am October 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to junction 3 - lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
