Road closures: almost two dozen for Manchester drivers this week

Drivers in and around Manchester will have 21 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And 13 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 13 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 8.30pm April 9 to 5am April 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 1 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M56, from 9pm March 28 to 5am April 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 1 to M60 Anticlockwise, junction 2 - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 8pm March 17 to 5am April 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise 24 - 26 lane closures and mainline closures due to resurfacing.

• M56, from 8pm April 1 to 5am April 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

• M60, from 9pm January 28 to 5am May 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J21 to J22 - carriageway closure for Construction - Bridge/Structure.

• M60, from 9pm March 1 to 6am May 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 8pm March 7 to 6am May 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 3 lane closures and slip road closure due to barrier repairs.

• A5103, from 9pm January 1 to 11pm May 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo - two hours before game.

• A5103, from midday, January 1 to 11pm May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo = two hours after game.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

• M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A663, from 9pm April 11 to 5am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 21 to junction 20 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• A5103, from 8pm April 19 to 5am April 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 northbound and southbound, Mersey Crescent to M56 - Lane closure and carriageway closure for signs.

• M60, from 8pm April 20 to 6am April 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to 21 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm April 20 to 6am April 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• A5103, from 8pm April 21 to 6am April 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J5 to J5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M60, from 9pm April 23 to 5am April 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 21 - carriageway closure for maintenance works.

• M56, from 9pm April 23 to 5am April 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 5 to junction 3 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm April 25 to 5am April 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 20 to junction 23 - carriageway closure for maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
